•
iRacing.com VLNTeam & Drivers Champion!
 •
When iRacing announced an official VLN Endurance Championship it was logical for us to take part in a series we've been waiting for a long time. Of course our loved Audi R8 LMS GT3 was the weapon of our choice for the season. more ... The season started well with a 2nd place finish for Alexander Voß and Nils Koch in our #33 car, while Kay Kaschube won the race in the falcon GP AMG. As most of you know Kay joined our team before the 2nd race and Kay and Nils were able to take the win in that race for the #33 car. Just as in the 2nd round Kay and Nils won the 3rd race in front of the Pure Racing Team R8. Three races done, three wins for Kay. Impressive performance and a clear word to all other contenders in the drivers championship. For the fourth round we started with two cars for the first time in that championship. The #33 was joined by a second R8 #66 with Alex and Angelo Michel behind the wheel. While the #33 had big trouble in that race and wasn't able to finish, the #66 finished in a strong second place behind the PRT Audi. After the bad fourth round the mission for the #33 Audi was clear. Only a win in the season highlight the 6h race would count. As Nils and Angelo weren't able to make the race due to other commitments the #33 car was driven by Kay and Alex. Both did an amazing job finishing in first with a gap of over three minutes and a fastest lap that was over three seconds faster than anybody else. For the sixth race the “usual” driver pairings of Kay - Nils and Alex - Angelo were back to take a double win, unfortunately without a real competition as PRT´s M. Benecke didn't show up for the last three races. Two races left, two new driver pairings as Angelo joined Kay for the seventh round, winning in front of Black Star Racing. For the last round we fielded a real “Junior Team” with Angelo and Moritz Löhner behind the wheel of our #33 car that finished the season with a win. It was a very successful first season for our team with a lot of ups and downs and especially a lot of fun. Kay Kaschube took the drivers championship while Nils Koch and Angelo Michel finished 3rd and 4th. Both were only able to attend to 5 races due to other commitments. In the Team Championship we took the title 434 points in front of MSP-DRIVERS-HOME with our Heusinkveld CORE Motorsports #33! Of course congrats to the other class winners Pure Racing Team (Kia) and Rookie Racing Team (MX-5) and big thanks to our sponsors Heusinkveld Engineering and FiTech
 •
iRacing 24 hoursof Spa Francorchamps
 •
The iRacing 24 hours of Spa Francorchamps: next round of the duel. With such a hard race in front of us we knew we had to stay calm. Starting from 4th position the strategy was to stay with the front runners and maybe save some fuel in the draft. more ... At the end of the first stint Kay was in second position very close behind Alvaro Ramiro when the latter made a crucial mistake at the exit of Blanchimont. A very unfortunate ending after such a promising performance for GTros. After more troubles for many top contenders, the scene was set for another episode of CORE versus PRT. Both teams were running at the limit hours after hours without any major mistakes as we could only slightly pull away with every stint. After 392 laps and nearly 16 hours around the famous circuit in the Ardennes PRT tried to increase the pressure by advancing the shorter stint and not changing tires, but lost all the gained time again in the slippery track conditions. Our hearts stopped beating for a moment when Nils had an off track at Les Combes, only missing a huge race-ending impact into the wall by a few millimeters. Certainly it helped us to stay awake and it was Angelo who had the privilege to bring the car home after a faultless drive to win the second official 24 hours race for us this year. What a race it was – and what a result we achieved! Congratulations to all finishers and to for placing their cars in position 2, 3 and 4!
 •
iRacing VLNRace Report #1
 •
One week ago iRacing revealed their plans about organizing a official VLN Series supported and featured by VLN association, the organizer of the counterpart of the famous real life VLN Championship on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. more ... For our team it was no question to participate since some snippets of informations came to face, other than what car to choose and how to get it work as it should. Oddly enough we gathered some experience in the BMW Z4 GT3, which is in effect not the first car of our choice, so we decided to choose and quickly develop a setup for the prefered AUDI R8 LMS. iRacing put three GT3s (BMW Z4, AUDI R8, Mercedes AMG), the KIA Optima and the MX5-Cup car in this endurance series, containing seven 4h races and one 6h race. Fully coveraged by Racespot TV on iRacing Live. Enough facts, the first race started last sunday, with a little less time for practicing and developing at all. Alexander had the chance to set the Pole-Position qualifying time, but a strong Kay Kaschube from falcon GPs VLN Team made the 25km long track three tens faster than our R8 LMS. A thrilling last Qualifying session. The race started on time, and Kay Kaschube continued his pace he showed in the qualifying with the Mercedes AMG GT at this track. Small setup changes right before the race have affected us in a negative way, so it took a few laps to adapt to the cars behavior. Alexander found his speed but unfortunately he had a little traffic during his first run, so Nils entered the car positioned at P3 after one hour. The gap was still reasonable, but we knew it could be a tough one to close the gap by just driving faster, so we decided for a decent driving for the remaining 3h, a rewarding decision at the end: Due to a crash with a lapped MX-5 Cup by second placed Pure Racing Team who afterwards retired from the race, it was up to us to bring the car back home in one piece to finish the race at P2. The gap to the laid back cars was already about 2 minutes, and to the still leading falcon GP Mercedes about 15 seconds. But no doubt, there was no see to start a catch up. Alexander pushed as hard as he could and unfortunately he received a 15s penalty for exceeding the pit entry limits. We decided to keep the track position and only changed 2 of the 4 tyres, what equalized the pit penalty. Of course that slowed us down for the last 6 laps, so the falcon GP car driven by Kay Kaschube and Roy Kolbe safely won the first iRacing VLN Endurance Championship race. A well deserved race win. At the end we finished P2, what is a good result for the remaining season. Congratulations to all finishers, especially german teams VRS Coanda Simsport, falcon GP, RSO, IndiGO! Racing and SimRC.de!

 •
iRacing VLNRace Report #2
 •
For the 2nd race of the official iRacing VLN Series, CORE Motorsports returned with two AUDI R8 GT3's after the historic win of the 24h race of Nürburgring three weeks ago. more ... This time the team started with two cars, where the #33 car manned by Kay Kaschube and Nils Koch won the GT3 class after 4h of race time. The CORE Motorsports car #66 manned by Alexander Voß wasn't able to overcome the Nürburgring Nordschleife as he spun at the famous 'Mutkurve' lying in third position, which unfortunately took the car out of the race. In the Qualifying it was apparent already that both CORE Motorsports cars were in shape to achive good results and maybe even an important race win for this second round of the officially VLN supported series organized by iRacing. The start driven by #33 driver Kay Kaschube was excellent and even the CORE Motorsports car #66 qualified on P5, could pass the Thrustmaster Mivano- and MSP-Drivers-Home car into the Mercedes-Benz Arena, which promised an interesting race with two cars positioned in the top three of the GT3 class. It was PRT's driver Maximilian Benecke who prevented the CORE Motorsports double lead. While Kay Kaschube slowly pulled away from the rest of the field, Alexander Voß tried to maintain the pressure on the PRT car, where they had a fair and clean battle through the first hour of racing. For a short time it was a tough race for the 2nd position between CORE Motorsports #66, Pure Racing Team #111 and Spade Racing's driver Marius Golombeck. After the first pitstop the PRT car passed the #33 car by refueling less fuel and taking no tyres. While the #33 car accomplished a full pit stop with tyres change, the PRT #111 car gained against the #33 car 27 seconds in the pits. Therefore PRT took the lead with a gap of 10 seconds. But it did not take long for Kay Kaschube to minimize the gap to claim back P1, when both cars slightly turned into each other in the Mercedes-Benz Arena which caused a spin of the PRT #111 car. Later the hour the CORE Motorsports car #66 spun in the 'Mutkurve', which took the car out of the race. From now on the race was nearly decided and was just about to overbear the Nordschleife multiclass racing, which is always a challenging task at this historic circuit. Nils Koch did his job perfectly without taking any risk at all. At the end the CORE Motorsports #33 car won the race with a decent gap of around 90 seconds in front of the Pure Racing Team #111. The team is happy to celebrate another important win on the Nordschleife, which seems to be a good place in the last months. Congratulations also to podium finishers PRT, MSP-Drivers-Home and all other class winners.
 •
iRacing VLNRace Report #3
 •
The 3rd race of the official iRacing.com VLN series brought back two of our drivers Angelo Michel and Christian Frank piloting the #66 R8 alongside the usual drivers Kay Kaschube and Nils Koch on the wheel of the #33 Audi. more ... The Battle Continues - VLN Race 3 Kaschube was able to secure pole position again with quite a big gap to the 2nd placed #111 PRT car, but the difference wasn't that big anymore during the race. Angelo Michel was able to achieve a fantastic 3rd place in the qualifying after his little break from Racing-Business at all. Those two were the drivers to start our cars. Kaschube was able to stay ahead of Benecke in the #111 with Michel right on the tail of the PRT car. Angelo Michel and Maximilian Benecke fought hard for 2nd and changed positions nearly every lap during the first stint. That gave Kaschube a little advantage who built up a gap of about 6 seconds before the first pitstop. Due to a different strategy our #66 car was able to stay ahead of the #111 during pitstops with the #33 still in the lead. While Michel wasn't able to maintain the pace of the PRT car, Kaschube could stretch his lead to 10 seconds. For the second round of pitstops both of our cars did a driver change. It was Nils Koch in the #33 and Christian Frank in the #66 who unfortunately had technical problems during his stint. In the #33 Koch was able to expand the gap to PRT (who didn't changed drivers) by additional 5 seconds to a total of 20 seconds. For the last stint Koch just had to drive the car home to take the 2nd win out of 3 races for us. For Kay Kaschube its 3 out of 3 now. The #66 was still able to finish in 10th place after the technical problems. The championship is still not over, but our #33 car is on a good way to expand the gap to the competitors. Highlights:
