Die Reime wirken zum Teil ein wenig lieblos übersetzt - da muss sich dann schon mal die Kokoscreme auf in der Mitte steh'n reimen. Das ist schade - handelt es sich doch sonst um ein wirklich sagenhaft schönes Kinderbuch für Kinder ab 3, das dazu einlädt, sich intensiv mit den berühmten Gemälden auseinander zu setzen. Diese und unzählige weitere Argumente gegen die üblichen Benimmregeln finden sich im grandiosen Anti-Knigge Benimm dich - bloß nicht! von Franziska Gehm und Horst Klein. Dessen Illustrationen sind passend zum Inhalt herrlich schräg, die Texte in krakeliger Schreibschrift kreuz und quer und manchmal auch kopfüber auf den Seiten verteilt. Wenn der Leser sich nicht an die Regeln halten muss - warum sollte es das Buch? Wie man den Amazon-Rezensionen entnehmen kann, ist dieser lockere Umgang mit Benimmregeln und Konventionen nicht jedermanns Sache. Mich persönlich nervt es aber sehr, dass Kinderbücher selten ohne erzieherische Botschaft oder Moralkeule auskommen. Da man aber noch bequem ist und sich Bücher lieber vorlesen lässt, hielt ich einen klassischen Pferde-Ratgeber eher für unpassend - das Vorlesen soll ja auch Spaß machen. Ponyhof Sternenhügel ist eine gelungene Mischung aus Bilderbuch und Sachbuch. Erzählt wird die Geschichte von der pferdeverrückten Iris, die endlich die ersehnten Reitstunden bekommt und auf dem Ponyhof Sternenhügel vieles über Pferde und Ponys lernt.
