description: Approximately a month ago, I started my business and things were looking up. I couldn't contain my excitement and continue to just do it! New opportunities came knocking on my door and I have accommodated all them with open arms. But as a few more weeks rolled in, the excitement started to dwindle down bit by bit. Now, I need to rely on discipline to keep on moving forward. One afternoon, I attended a seminar and the speaker said, Always remember, the gold may just be three feet away. Don't quit, rest if you must. That was my cue to keep listening and this is what I got out of it. 5 Stages to Success Honeymoon Stage This is where the butterflies flutter in your stomach out of excitement. The ideas are flowing from everywhere. Plans are formed for action but as always, things go through cycles and the excitement wax and wane.Push Through The decision to push through will force us to find creative ways to move forward. This is merely a mental exercise. The nay sayers (including ourselves) will give us all the reasons why we simply can't do it but we continue to gear ourselves for action. Rest - We reflect and come back when we are ready. Quit - It stops here. The game is over. Struggling Stage Continuing this path is starting to feel like a struggle. This is the stage when mistakes are made. It can be frustrating at times because it seems like nothing is right in the world.Push Through. Despite all the frustrations, we learn from our mistakes. We accept that mistakes are an inevitable obstacle to our success. We push through and reach the next stage. Rest. - We might miss the time and opportunity to learn but, rest if we must. Quit. - We stops here. Attract-Success-No-Matter-What-You-Do Stage Now is the time to reap what was sowed. No matter what happens, success follows shortly after. It is a great feeling and very tempting to just be comfortable.Push Through. We knew it all, or so we though. It was tempting to be just comfortable. But, we push through. We start discovering things we never knew. This has just elevated our playing field. Rest. - We will risk being left in the dust but, rest if we must. Quit. - We stop here. Mastery Stage Also known as the Self-Sabotaging Stage. This is the time where rules are being challenged and broken for the sake of learning more. This might feel like running through a brick wall when new discoveries and experiments produce less than stellar outcome.Push Through. Despite the frustrations, we push through harder. We will find things that will make us feel more energized. On the bright side, the struggle doesn't scare us anymore and we look forward to knowing that the work we put in will result into something wonderful. You are determined to slowly inch your way to your goal. Rest. - Take a break, reflect, and come back when ready. Quit. - Game over. You were three feet away from gold. Success Stage This is the time when the right systems are in place and most things are automatic. The is where the gold is. Don't stop when you're tired. Stop when you are DONE. - Unknown I am here to test the theory that the 5 stages to success exist. If I keep pushing through, in theory, I should be able to reach success no matter what happens. I guess I will find out in time!
