• <H2> Emulsion fuel is created by the effect of an emulsifier which forces particles of oil and water together.  Such emulsion fuels have milky-white color and relatively high viscosity.  However, in emulsion fuel technology, the connections of oil and water particles are very unstable, and they separate over time.  The existence of water molecule in emulsion fuel degrades the flame temperature and calorific value. These problems are negative characteristics of emulsion fuel.

• <H2> There has been extensive research done on emulsifiers, electrolytic reduction of water or utilization of homogenizer for the development of much higher quality of emulsion fuel, however, as long as the fuel is emulsified, it is impossible to avoid the major problems of emulsion fuel.

• <H2> There may be some advantages for better combustion efficiency in emulsion fuel, such as micro explosion of water particle in emulsion fuel, and water gas shift reaction.  However, due to the water particles still present in emulsion fuel, the technology and science is ultimately flawed.
