• <H2>                                                                                                                               Today was a wonderful day that started out not so great, yesterday I didn’t get to bed till later not feeling well, and I received some not awesome but not horrible news the day before. I woke up late and debated on even driving to OSM today. We didn’t arrive till the event was over and with not much warm up I was throwing. Not really in a great mood and spirit low I didn’t even want to take my turn. My throwing reflected my mood, I scored worse than I ever had and I am pretty sure everyone could tell my heart was not in it.  After I took my aggression out on the targets and slowly my mood improved, it shows you that this sport and martial art has the ability to help your mind and spirit. Chief came down and videotaped the one and a half spin throw and I felt a lot better. Wish I did better during the competition but hey cannot win them all. Marc took the win and Eric was close behind him! Marc is the newest of us to the team and is killing it in competitions! He will excel and be the one to beat (well actually now he is!) Way to go MARC!!! Afterwards I scored myself and ran through the competition over and over and eventually broke 200 and well that was good for me to break my bad mood. I was reminded father’s day is tomorrow and sense Chief is well like my dad (o let’s face it I am an adopted adult ha-ha) I wished him a happy father’s day. I also pulled out the Combative Edge Dragon Tail and we decided to give it a go and try to throw it! Man Chief can throw anything and stick it in the target! I threw it as well and it was actually awesome! Chief fell in love with this knife so it being father’s day and all I decided I had the perfect father’s day present! This knife has made it through the works having been lost through TSA and on some pretty amazing adventures I know it will be in a fantastic home with Chief ! Things I learned today, don’t let your negative energy ruin a perfectly good day. Stay humble and compete and work on techniques to make sure outside elements don’t affect your ability to achieve… Overall I learned that my family could make my day better no matter the circumstances.

• <H2> The final event of the season and man what fun it was! We had an absolute blast! We made Zombie Heads and I made some Zombies targets with everyone on the team’s photo as zombies! It was a hoot! I dressed up apparently everyone else forgot but I had best costume award as Zombie Swat Girl! I worked hard on my costume and man it paid off.  We threw knives and spikes at each target and we popped the paper machete targets filled with zombie guts, we threw no spin at the pictures and I got to kill zombie chief!! Ha-ha. Zombie throw was the last throw of the season and man we had a fire for the cold and hot apple cider. We reminisced about the past events and how far each of has come, and how we grew as a family. The people that have come and gone. We made blinding powder and hit it with various weapons you normally would not think to use, like a belt with a master lock on it, or a chain :) It was a wonderful laid back good time with fireworks at the end, OSM style that is  !!What a wonderful season we have had and for the winter months coming up we had a lot to learn in our martial arts training! All of which will make us better throwers, and one thing to keep in mind about the art of throwing and this academy as well, you’re learning to become a better thrower, but also a better all-around person. With learning comes growth in life! We have the best mentor, and that is Chief Gross who gives us all amazing dedication and 100% commitment that we all hope to live up to and make proud! ~ Happy Halloween Everyone~
• <H2> Adams AG Fair
• <H2>      Today the team met up at the Adams fair to demonstrate and teach people how to throw hawks. We worked on the one spin throw.  It was a Saturday and Sunday event and 2 hours each way but it was worth every minute.        The first day Eric, Jake, and Chief were there as I and Logan showed up. This was different than anything I have done before, I mean I have competed in cheerleading in front of crowds, and Irish step dancing, and horse shows but all never required sticking a sharp hawk into a target. At this point I was still pretty green going on my fifth month of training. Jake never taught anyone in front of people nor had Eric done anything like this as well. We were in a new spot than Chief was used to, as previous year Mrs. Chief and Rosa used to perform in the barn on stage. This was new for all of us.         I was used to being in front of people and the center of attention, hey it’s what I do. Chief got people’s attention with the bullwhip (think Indiana Jones)! I was desperate to try that thing when we got back to the academy! Crowds started to come in and we actually decided to make a competition out of it. We taught the contestant how to throw and they each went up against each other. Then whoever one had to go up against the student of their choice. I happened to be everyone’s go to as I was Katniss, Jake was Uncle Si, and Eric was Bradley Cooper. Everyone ate that up (me with the braid ha-ha).         I had a few students, Eric had a few as well, Jake got in there and was shy but he did it as well. I loved every minute of getting to show people what we do. My favorite student was a boy scout and he was my student who got to go up against me and WON!! Talk about the student surpassing the teacher! He was great and a natural! He even beat ERIC!!! Later he would come to a few events and did absolutely fantastic!        Another student of mine beat Eric and won a shirt! It was all in great fun! We went to get food and ice cream after the event and man we talked about the day and had a great time it was an amazing day and still had another to go.Sunday it was just Eric and I and we had a blast doing what we had the day before, it was amazing to see new people find such an interest in the event. We switched things up a bit as the student had to make three consecutive throws to be able to win a shirt. It was 5 dollars for three throws and if you made each one you one a tee shirt!        We celebrated with salt and vinegar malt fries and some dancing with Mrs. Chief and Eric and even Logan. One thing about being with family we can make any place a celebration and what better place than at the fair! This was a great event!
